You Won't Have to Lift a Finger

I came across this house in Westport sitting empty, all nice and newly painted, and waiting for a family to love it. Originally built in 1997, the house has obviously been looked after with great care because whoever moved out left it in perfect move-in condition. The kitchen has a new gas cooktop and I think the double ovens are new, too. Nice dining room with the tray ceiling that seems suddenly to be de rigeur, large living room as well as a library. Upstairs are four bedrooms and bathrooms plus a gynormous master suite set up.

With all the amenities this house has to offer, you might never feel the need to go on vacation. There’s a great gym in the basement for the exercise nuts among you. If this were my house, I’d sneak a sauna somewhere down there, just for fun. In the summer you can soak in the hot tub or swim laps in the pool. The flat lawn lends itself perfectly to elegant croquet tournaments, or to flag football free-for-alls. And when you’re thoroughly exhausted, a trip to the super wine cellar should help you perk up. Just make sure you stock it first.

Asking price for 11 River Lane in Westport is $1,995,000. It's in a great location, just of Wilton Road, between The Red Barn at Exit 41 on the Merritt Parkway and downtown Westport, and, if you're feeling 'green' you could ride your bike to the Saugatuck train station.
