William Pitt Manager Oversees Happy Offices

Brad Kimmelman, brokerage manager of the Fairfield and Southport offices of William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty, couldn't be happier with the way his offices are running. "I'm in the right place," he says. "I've never been in an environment where people get along so well." Kimmelman oversees 47 agents in Fairfield and another 26 in Southport.

His primary role is to support, encourage and nurture his sales staff. He helps with competitive market analyses, presentations and advertising. He also recruits and trains new agents. Despite the poor economy, he has hired five new agents since June.

Kimmelman came to real estate 10 years ago after a 14-year career in broadcast advertising. "I'd had enough of New York," he says. "I missed the trees and grass." And he wanted to be able to park his car in front of a restaurant without spending hours hunting for a spot.

Kimmelman says his own experience as a successful agent was instrumental to understanding how best to support his teams. He finds that much of what he learned in advertising applies to real estate, especially in the areas of marketing and technology. Agents who embrace technology are the most successful, Kimmelman says, "because if used correctly, it speeds up all the processes." Agents can post a listing to multiple online real estate websites with one click, he says. He's excited about the new WilliamPitt.com website scheduled to launch soon. Listings and photos will automatically be turned into property videos with music and voice-overs and translated into several languages.

In addition to his leadership role in Fairfield, Kimmelman runs William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty's agent training program with Vicki D'Agostino, the director of education. "I get immense satisfaction when I see agents I have mentored use that training and have success from it," he says.
