Weston Estate Exudes European Mystique

Architectural details are the difference between a true estate home and a run-of-the-mill McMansion. This Weston estate, which sits just five minutes from Exit 41 off the Merritt Parkway and two minutes from Weston center, has plenty of those details.

What I like in particular about this grand home, which was built in 2008, is its entrance. It’s a perfect example of great curb appeal. It has wide steps with wrought iron railings leading up to the colonnaded porch, which has three sets of French doors. Each pair of doors has an arched Palladian window over it and light streams into the foyer.

The grand foyer leads to the public rooms: a living room and dining room, as well as a library, family room and sunroom. There's a great kitchen with a pantry and an eating area. The master suite is also on the first floor. Upstairs there’s a den, as well as four bedrooms with attached bathrooms.

The house reminds me of a castle in the Austrian Alps. I love the bell tower detail on the house. The exterior is all stucco and the interior walls are plaster. There's lots of privacy on the two park-like acres. The house has an attached three-car garage and plenty of storage.

The asking price for 44 Ridge Road in Weston is $2,555,555.
