Rowayton Realtor Highlights Waterfront Home

Judy Hyers, a Realtor with William Raveis, has made a specialty of selling waterfront homes, which is hardly surprising since she grew up on the Five Mile River, a few turns of the rudder from Long Island Sound.

Waterfront properties don't come on the market all that often, so Hyers is delighted to offer a 7,359 square-foot home in the coveted Shorehaven area of East Norwalk, Conn. "This home has water views from every room in the house," Hyers says.

The four-bedroom house was custom designed and built in 2001 on a 1.97-acre lot adjacent to tidal marshes that allow small boat access to the Long Island Sound at high tide.

"It's a very solid house," Hyers says. "It's built on pilings and there's been no settling at all." Potential buyers will also want to know that the house suffered no wind or water damage during tropical storm Irene.

"What I really like about this house is that the main living areas are on the second floor," Hyers says. The kitchen, great room and dining area all open onto each other and numerous windows and balconies offer long views over neighboring houses to the Norwalk Islands, the Long Island Sound and the marshlands. "The house is filled with light from morning until night," Hyers says.

A family room and study on the ground floor open to the landscaped garden and a large deck that surrounds the freeform pool. The master bedroom suite and a mirrored fitness room are on the top floor, from which the views are even more magnificent.

"I think what I like most is the "outside/insideness" of this house," Hyers says. "And the wonderful water views. On a sunny day or moonlit night, everything sparkles."

The price for 7 Shorehaven Road, Norwalk, Conn. was recently reduced to $2.195 milion.
