Realtor Turns Clients into Friends

Michael Manzino, a Realtor with Halstead Properties in Stamford, Conn., is never short of friends. Many are his real estate clients. “I enjoy being with people,” he says. “I’ve been to clients’ weddings and met their families. I stay in touch.”

Manzino believes that getting to know clients helps him understand how he can best help them, whether they are buying, selling or renting a home. And, of course, they get to know him. “Most of my referrals are from previous clients,” he says.

Manzino knows that customer service is the key to customer satisfaction. During his previous 25-year career in finance, he learned that, more than anything, people want someone who will listen to their needs and frustrations. “I worked one-on-one with investors,” he says. “My job was to try to alleviate their problems.” He uses those same skills now in his real estate business.

For 99.9 percent of people in this country, buying a home is the largest financial transaction they’re ever going to make, he says. Manzino helps clients navigate the process with the least possible stress. “Your real estate agent has to connect you with all the other professionals,” he says. The bankers, mortgage brokers, lawyers and building inspectors Halstead Properties recommends are all tried and tested people.

Sellers’ properties receive the same high customer service thanks to Halstead’s internet technology. Manzino’s listing at 11 Hearthstone Court in Stamford’s Cove area is being marketed to a target audience looking for a three-bedroom home. It’s advertised on Trulia, Zillow, Craigslist as well as in the local paper he says. “I get your listing out there to the widest possible audience.”

“I am out there with your best interests in mind,” Manzino says. “I won’t settle for anything less.”
