Sales figures for 2009 show that real estate in Norwalk sold better than in other Fairfield County town, but prices fell significantly. According to data released by William Pitt Realty, 440 homes sold in 2009 versus 416 in 2008--a jump of nearly 6 percent. Prices, however, fell by nearly 23 percent, from an average sale price of $684,487 in 2008 to $529,072 last year.
