Agent Knows All The Good Places

Tammy Langalis is one of those real estate agents who makes it her business to know absolutely everything there is to know about her town. So when newcomers are shopping for a home, she can tell them just about anything that’s going on in Rowayton: where to find nursery schools, who runs the Garden Club, where to find the supermarkets, how to enroll the kids in school or sailing camp. Tammy has all the facts.

“There’s a lot of inventory right now in Rowayton,” she says, so buyers have a wide range of choices, from well-priced ranches and quaint cottages tucked away among the winding hilly roads of this charming sea-side town, to luxurious multi-million dollar homes with deep docks on the Five Mile River.

“A house is the biggest purchase most people make in their lifetime,” she continues, “and I like finding the right house for the right person.”  Tammy is a also a history buff and Rowayton has more than its fair share of old homes, mostly Victorians lining Rowayton Avenue. So if you're in the market for something with history, make sure you let her know up front!

Culture isn’t lacking here in Rowayton.  Shakespeare on the Sound, a free outdoor performance of a Shakespearean play in Pinkney Park, right on the river, runs for two weeks every June. Locals spread out their blankets and bring an intriguing variety of picnic foods and beverages, and a good time is always had by all.

Tammy enjoys working with both buyers and sellers. Her tip for people wanting to sell their home is to wait until January, the traditional start of the spring season. So if you’re planning to sell in 2011, this is a good time to start the de-cluttering process. Clean out those closets, and clear out the basement.  A clean, uncluttered home goes a long way to helping buyers make a quick choice.
