A 'Pocket Battleship' Sells Homes

Theresa Blinder is the sort of person who happily admits she was once called a "pocket battleship" by a boss in her previous career as a financial manager. "Failure is not an option for me," she told me when we talked at the William Raveis office in Wilton recently. "I will break down walls to make things happen. I will do what it takes, efficiently, to get things done."

Theresa began her career in real estate in 2003 following the birth of her second child, and in the past seven years she has built her business as a realtor into a dynamic and successful operation. Of course, she brings an amazing track record in the finance world to the table. Degrees from MIT and Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management followed by many years in corporate America at Pepsico and Unilever prepared her to tackle the challenges of the residential real estate market with quite an arsenal of tricks.

Theresa has created a team to help provide her clients, both buyers and sellers, with the best possible service. An associate works full-time taking clients to visit available properties, while Theresa focuses on marketing strategies and contract negotiations. An in-house mortgage broker provides financing options, and Raveis also offers insurance packages. A soup to nuts service.

Theresa firmly believes that to sell, a house must look its absolute best, so she brings in a stager to help clear clutter, rearrange furniture and do everything else that's needed to make the house visually appealing. "People want to be able to move in and get on with their lives," she said. "Equity lines are difficult to get these days, so people are buying houses where they don't need to do any work."

Theresa Blinder specializes in Westport, Wilton, Weston, Ridgefield and Redding, but she also has an extensive network of associates elsewhere in Connecticut and across the U.S. She can be found at William Raveis, 44 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton.
