“Being out there, accessible, and talking directly with people is fundamental to open government and helps us become more effective at serving the people we were elected to represent,” Malloy said in a press release. “I really do enjoy talking with our state’s residents directly and hearing their opinions on how we can make decisions that will best improve Connecticut.”
Each year, Malloy and Wyman hold a series of community forums where residents can ask questions of the two directly. The meetings will last throughout the current legislative session, which is scheduled to end May 7.
“These meetings are a very direct way for citizens to have a voice in everything from how their tax dollars are being spent to how their children are being educated,” Wyman said in the release.
The meetings are open to the public, and all residents are welcome to submit questions on state issues. Those interested in asking questions should arrive at the forum early to add their names to a sign-in sheet.
The first forum will take place in the community room of Norwalk City Hall at 125 East Ave. on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. The dates and locations of future meetings will be announced over the next few weeks.
