FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Republican Linda McMahon and Democrat Rep. Chris Murphy will face off in November for Joe Lieberman's U.S. Senate seat in the general election, the Hartford Courant reported Tuesday night.
The Courant reported that McMahon, who lives in Greenwich, beat her opponent, former U.S. Rep. Chris Shays, a Fairfield County native. According to NBC, McMahon had, at 9:20 p.m., 76 percent of the votes, or 35,477 votes with 43 districts reporting.
Murphy was also announced the winner by the Courant. NBC reported that Murphy, at 9:20 p.m., had 66 percent of the votes, or 35,295 votes with 43 districts reporting.
