A resident was awoken at around 2:40 a.m. by a noise and looked out the window to see someone driving his car away, the Hour reported. Police told the Hour that a group of juveniles had gone into the home at some point, which was unlocked, taken the keys, and used them to steal the Mercedes Benz in the driveway.
Police responded to the area and spotted the Mercedes, as well as a BMW that had been stolen from Fairfield, the Hour reported. The cars were sped down Rowayton Avenue until one crashed and other stopped, police told the Hour. Several suspects fled from the cars, but police were able to catch two of them, the Hour reported.
The two who were caught were charged with first-degree burglary, interfering with an officer, second-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and second-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, the Hour reported. Police told the Hour that the incident is still under investigation.
