NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk detectives were investigating after a woman was shot overnight inside a bar in the Wall Street area, police said.
At 2:04 a.m. Saturday, officers patrolling the area were flagged down by an employee of Market Bistro and Bar at 64 Wall St., police said.
The employee told officers that a woman had been shot inside the bar, police said.
Officers entered the bar and found a 28-year-old woman suffering from a single gunshot wound to the torso, police said.
According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene after the shooting, police said. Responding officers searched the area but the suspect was not located, police said.
Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Service transported the woman to the Norwalk Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Norwalk Detectives responded to the scene and took charge of the investigation.
