Two Arrested in Stolen Car in South Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – The driver of a stolen vehicle and his passenger were arrested Monday night after being stopped by Darien police in South Norwalk, Norwalk Police say. The Ford Explorer, stolen from Greenwich, had a stolen license plate as well.Darien police stopped the SUV at about 9:30 p.m. on Gray Rock Road, off Wilson Avenue, after following it into Norwalk because they thought it was stolen, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. Norwalk officers responded quickly and found that the driver, George Buruca, 40, of 80 S. Main St., smelled of alcohol, Cotto said. Buruca was intoxicated and had to be taken to Norwalk Hospital, Cotto said. He didn't have a driver's license on him. There was a woman in the car and a full bottle of Bacardi. The plate was stolen off a Ford Explorer. Greenwich police also responded to the scene, and the car was towed.Both Buruca and his passenger, Anibal Grave, 34, of 26 Ely Ave., were arrested by Norwalk police and charged with larceny third degree. Buruca was also charged with holding an open alcoholic beverage while driving. Bond for each was $25,000.Buruca was also given misdemeanor summonses for misuse of a plate and driving without a license. Grave was given a misdemeanor summons for misuse of a plate.
