NORWALK, Conn. Three South Norwalk brothers allegedly attacked a man with a pipe during a parking dispute, Norwalk Police say. A bystander who intervened was also struck by a pipe, as was the brother of the driver who was the focus of the incident. The injured were taken to Norwalk Hospital and the brothers were arrested. Each was held on $100,000 bond.
The dispute began when a 19-year-old man parked his truck in front of 19 Laura St., Lt. Praveen John said. Minutes later, Hugo Aguilar, 29, of 19 Laura St., came home with Argentina Renaldo-Garcia, 25. Aguilar asked the driver to move his truck. An argument ensued, and Aguilar called his brother, Oscar Aguilar, 27, of 13 Lexington St., and asked him to come over. John was unclear how the third brother, Reyes Aguilar, 23, of 19 Laura St. got involved, but he said the driver, his 42-year-old brother and a 31-year-old man who intervened were struck with pipes.
Police were called at 11:03 p.m. When they arrived, the shirtless 42-year-old jumped on the bumper of the truck and produced a 29-inch long pipe and a 20-inch long pipe, and said that he and his brother had been hit with them. He was holding his back and his brother was bleeding. Police took the pipes and then went into the house to check for weapons. They found Hugo Aguilar inside, and brought him out.
The Aguilar brothers were each charged with conspiracy, breach of peace second degree, a Class B misdemeanor, and assault first degree, a Class B felony.
Renaldo-Garcia was given a summons for threatening second degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and breach of peace second degree, a Class B misdemeanor.
The front yard at 19 Laura Street is essentially a parking lot, with no dirt and space delineated for four cars. A person parking on the street in front of the house would block access or exit from those spaces.
No citation was issued to the driver of the truck.
