Storm Sorrentino was found Friday in Fairfield by the Fairfield Police Department. Detectives from the Norwalk Police Department responded and conducted an interview with Sorrentino, who has since been reunited with his father.
Sorrentino was found after a resident called police at 1 p.m. Friday to report a suspicious person sitting on a stone wall on Burr Street, said Lt. James Perez of the Fairfield Police Department.
Officers were dispatched and identified the person as Sorrentino and took him to police headquarters. Perez said the boy was not found at the home of his mother, Kathryn, who was jailed earlier this week for refusing to tell authorities where her son was. Kathryn Sorrentino lives about 2 or 3 miles from where her son was located.
Perez said that it looked like Sorrentino was waiting for a ride when he was picked up.
Storm Sorrentino had been listed on the website for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He had last been seen on Dec. 21.
The Norwalk Police Department Special Victims Unit is continuing to investigate the disappearance. Anybody with information is asked to contact Special Victims Unit Detective Jim Thompson at 203-854-3184.
