In addition to the drunken driving arrests, state police troopers investigated two fatal accidents over the weekend, one in West Hartford and one in North Stonington, according to Lt. J. Paul Vance.
Troopers investigated a total of 281 motor vehicle accidents over the weekend, 59 of which had at least one reported injury.
Thousands of motor vehicle violations were issued by state troopers over the weekend, including 1,941 for speeding, 718 for failure to wear a seatbelt and 4,294 for hazardous driving, according to Vance.
“Motorists are reminded as the summer months continue, to voluntarily obey all rules of the road, and report any suspected drunk driver to police as this is a true emergency,” said Vance in a statement.
