School Bus Crashes Into Metro-North Overpass In East Norwalk

updated: NORWALK, Conn. — Police were investigating after a school bus crashed into a Metro-North overpass on Strawberry Hill Avenue just before 4 p.m. Monday.

Aaron Donovan, a spokesman for Metro-North, said the accident call came in at 3:57 p.m. He said he didn't have any immediate information on possible injuries.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Strawberry Hill Avenue and Fitch Street, near the East Norwalk Train Station. 

No injuries were reported, Norwalk police Sgt. Sofia Gulino told The Hour. Another bus arrived to pick up the students, The Hour said. The students were reportedly on their way to a high school sports game, but that could not be confirmed, the Hour said. 

Donovan said there wasn't any immediate impact on the trains. The accident remains under investigation by Metro-North.
