At 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, state police troopers from Troop G responded to the bridge on a report that a person had possibly jumped from the bridge, said Sgt. Eric J. Haglund, state police spokesman.
The Norwalk Police and Fire Departments, Westport Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard used boats in an attempt to locate the person but have been unsuccessful, Haglund said.
Additionally, members of the State Police Dive Team responded to search the river, he said.
The search was active and continuing Thursday morning, he said.
The identity of the person involved was not released.
The person’s car was found in a commuter parking lot and their shoes were found on the bridge, according to the Connecticut Post.
