Police: Norwalk Man Hit Prostitute

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man hit a prostitute over a fight about whether he should use a condom, police said.

Clifton Pratt, 52, is the second Norwalk man this week who police have charged with hitting a prostitute over condom use.

Police said they received a complaint from the alleged prostitute on Tuesday. She told them she had met up with a man she knew as “Jeff” at a business on North Main Street, where he allegedly works as a custodian.

Police said the two agreed to have sex for $20, but soon began arguing. According to police, she wanted him to wear a condom and he refused. Police said he then struck her in the face.

A warrant was issued for Pratt's arrest and he was taken into custody Wednesday night. He was charged with disorderly conduct and patronizing a prostitute, both misdemeanors. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 30.
