NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man cut up his girlfriend's shoes and smeared avocado and banana all over her bed and television after a fight, according to police.
Eladio Villa-Garcia, 22, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was held on a $2,500 bond and went to court Monday.
Police received a complaint from Villa-Garcia's girlfriend about 6 p.m. Sunday that he had destroyed her belongings. The two had an argument after she had gone out drinking with a friend the night before and hadn't returned home, police said. When she arrived home Sunday, she discovered that her belongings had been thrown around the bedroom, her shoes and articles of clothing had been cut up, and her bed and television had been smeared with avocado and banana, according to police reports.
She also found that a coin jar containing cash and coins had been taken, and her iPhone had been smashed, police said. Several notes had been left on her bed and in a shoebox with obscenities written in Spanish, according to police reports.
She called the police, who contacted Villa-Garcia over the phone. He admitted that he had damaged the belongings because he was mad she hadn't returned home, according to police reports. He was then arrested.
