NORWALK, Conn. A Norwalk woman was arrested Sunday night and charged with hitting a police officer who was responding to a 911 call.
Police reported that somebody called 911 and hung up. When police returned the call and it was answered, a screaming woman could be heard in the background.
Police traced the call to a home on Madison Street and officers said they met Taijah Odoms, 20, outside. Police said that Odoms refused to tell them what was going on. When they told her she was in risk of interfering with an investigation, police said that Odoms put her hands behind her back and said, "Fine, arrest me."
According to police, Odoms then took a swing at one of the officers' head and struck him in the chest. Police said that officers wrestled Odoms to the ground and handcuffed her, and that she was kicking at them throughout the arrest.
Police said they later determined that Odoms got into an argument with her child's father when he came over to pick up their daughter. Police believe that Odoms was the one who called the police herself, but are unsure.
Odoms was charged with assault on a police officer and interfering with an officer.
