Norwalk Teens Charged With Burglary

NORWALK, Conn. – Two Norwalk teens were arrested and charged with breaking into a car rental business on Saturday night.

Somebody saw two young men breaking into the business and called the police. While en route, police said they found someone matching the description of one of the teens on nearby Holmes Street. They brought out Kai the police dog to search for the other teen, who they found hiding near the Duchess on Main Street.

Police said that one of the young men had a backpack that contained burglary tools, a wallet with credit cards, a Garmin GPS, a phone, an iPod, a headset, a flashlight and a utility knife. The other had two cell phones on him. Police said somebody called one of the cell phones, saying that she was the owner and that her phone had been taken.

Police said that one of the teens, a 13-year-old, was uncooperative and was struggling and cursing at the officers. He was charged with interfering with an officer, third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny, criminal mischief and conspiracy. The other teen, a 15-year-old, was charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny, criminal mischief and conspiracy. The burglary charges are a Class D felony and the others are misdemeanors. They were both transported to the juvenile detention center in Bridgeport.
