On Jan. 14 at 11:30 p.m. two white or light-skinned Hispanic males entered the Rainbow News and Variety at 205 Main Ave., police said. Both men were armed and at least one of them had a Hispanic accent. They were both wearing hooded sweatshirts, masks and gloves. One can be seen in surveillance footage wearing a blue Cookie Monster sweatshirt.
One suspect was armed with a large silver-colored revolver and the other had a black semi-automatic pistol, police said. Both pointer their guns at the store's owner and demanded he open the cash registers for both the business and the CT Lotto, or they would shoot him. Both suspects fled on foot.
