According to police, the man pulled into the driveway of a local business on Brookfield Street around 3 p.m. and smashed in the window of a work van parked there.

The suspect reached into the vehicle and stole power tools, hand tools, and wire, police said.

He was confronted by an employee from the business but fled before officers could arrive, police said.

He is described as a light-skinned, black male wearing gray sweatpants and a gray sweatshirt with white lettering across the chest, which possibly said “Everest.”

He drove away in a small, blue sedan, police said.

Anyone who experienced a similar incident, or recognizes the suspect, is asked to contact Detective Dominick Cisero at 203-854-3034, or dcisero@norwalkct.org.
