Norwalk Police: Man In Van Offered Juvenile Candy

NORWALK, Conn. -- A man in a van possibly offered a juvenile candy near Rowayton Elementary School in Norwalk Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said the juvenile reported that they were walking on Wilson Avenue near Rowayton Elementary School at 9 a.m. Thursday when a dirty dark blue van with a loud muffler stopped nearby. The operator, who was described as a man in his 50s with a beard, waved at the juvenile and possibly offered the juvenile candy, police said.

The juvenile immediately fled the scene and reported the incident. Additional patrols have been assigned to the area.
