NORWALK, Conn. A Norwalk man was shot with a stun gun and arrested early Sunday after he broke into the home of his child's mother and punched her, Norwalk police say.
Police investigating a 3:17 a.m. 911 hang-up could see a man and an upset woman through a window as they walked to the door of the Bucciarelli Lane home, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. The woman answered the knock, but the man was nowhere to be seen. The woman said the man was trying to run away, according to the police account.
An officer saw Darwin Chacon, 28, of 83 Lexington Ave., jump out a window, Cotto said. Chacon landed and squared off at the officer in an aggressive stance, Cotto said. The officer shot his stun gun at him and handcuffed him.
The victim said Chacon is her ex and doesn't live there, Cotto said. She told police found him in the house. She saw a kitchen knife on a dresser and he said that was his "key to get in," according to Cotto. The victim tried to call police, but he held her down and punched her. The victim declined medical attention.
They have a 4-year-old son, Cotto said, but there is a protective order barring Chacon from harassing her or being within 100 feet of her. Chacon was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, a Class D felony; injury/risk/impairing morals, a Class C felony; third-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor; criminal violation of a protective order, a Class D felony; and first-degree burglary, a Class B felony. Bond was set at $25,000.
The Department of Children and Families was notified. Cotto said the Norwalk Police department investigates 911 hang-ups with a visit to the address; many departments do not.

An "extremely intoxicated" man was arrested on his birthday Sunday evening after causing a disturbance at Calf Pasture Beach, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. Mark Homa, 44, of 75 Taylor Ave., was there with a woman who wanted to leave the Sunset Grille at about 7 p.m. because Homa was getting loud, Cotto said.
A police officer found that a protective order prohibited Homa from being with the woman. He was also prohibited from drinking alcohol. He was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, a Class D felony. Bond was set at $20,000.
