Jahmar Palma, 27, of 10 Sention Ave., was charged with 14 drug-related counts. HIs bond was set at $250,000, and his first scheduled court appearance is Feb. 23.

Police set up an operation late last year to buy heroin from Palma, who was known to be active in the area of Suncrest Road, police said. Officers made undercover buys on a number of occasions as police built up their case, police said.

On Monday afternoon, police pounced as they watched Palma leave an apartment at 89 Suncrest Road just after 2 p.m. and get into a Honda, police said. When the car came to a stop at North Taylor Street and Connecticut Avenue, police teams moved in on him, police said.

He was arrested without incident. Officers discovered 62 folds of heroin and $214 in cash in the car, police said.
