Norwalk Police Arrest Man With 42 Pieces Of Crack After Chase

NORWALK, Conn. — A 37-year-old Stamford man arrested a foot chase through South Norwalk on Thursday afternoon had 42 pieces of crack cocaine in his possession, Norwalk police said.   The incident began at 2:37 p.m. Nov. 3 as a patrol officer responded to the area of 14 Larsen St. on a report of a man passed out in a vehicle, police said.

When the officer arrived, a man got out of the vehicle, dropping a bag that contained crack cocaine, and fled, police said. 

A foot chase ensued — traversing Larsen Street, Merritt Street, Chestnut Street, the King Kennedy Housing Complex and Concord Street — where officers apprehended the suspect in the backyard of 41 Concord St., police said. 

The bag, which was recovered at the scene, was found to contain 42 pieces of crack cocaine, police said. 

Benjamin Mosby, 37, of 6 Rose Park Ave., Stamford, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with Intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, interfering with a police officer and third-degree criminal trespass. 

His bond was set at $50,000.
