Conrad Peterson, 22, was charged with third-degree burglary and fifth-degree larceny. He posted a $2,500 bond and will appear in court Feb. 13.
Police were called after Peterson tried to sell $850 worth of tools at a Main Street pawn shop Thursday. He had been in the store before and sold items that later were revealed to have been stolen, police said. When officers questioned him about where he got the tools, he allegedly first told them he didn't know and then said he had received them from relatives.
Peterson later admitted he stole the tools, according to police reports. He had taken them from a neighbor's garage at his apartment complex, police said.
