NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with manslaughter in connection with a death on Westport Avenue early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to 505 Westport Ave. Unit 17 at around 1:28 a.m. Wednesday on a report of an assault. Arriving officers found the victim dead inside the residence, police said. Officers detained Paul Bjerke, 59, a resident of the unit who was inside the residence.
Detectives subsequently arrested Bjerke and charged him with first-degree manslaughter for his role in the death of the victim, police said. He was held on $750,000 bond.
The Norwalk Detective Bureau is continuing to investigate the incident, along with the Crime Scene Unit.
