Norwalk Man Assaulted; Refuses To Give Information

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk assault victim, who was bleeding from the back of his head, was rushed to Norwalk Hospital by two friends early Monday, Norwalk Police say. The victim, who had a minor laceration on the back of his head and neck, refused to cooperate with police, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. He provided no details, including his own identity.

The victim's friend said he had been walking on Lexington Avenue when he saw the victim. He called a friend who had a car. Police were called by an emergency room nurse at 12:35 a.m.

? A Norwalk woman reported that an armed man tried to rob her while she was doing her laundry Sunday night in the basement of her apartment building at 26 Ferris Ave., Cotto said. The man, who had a switchblade, demanded money from the victim, Cotto said. She said she didn't have any money and left. He followed her and then ran toward the Ferris Hill Club. She called police at 9:35 p.m. Police searched the area with the help of K-9 officers but could not locate the suspect, Cotto said. They plan to do extra patrols in the area. The victim was not injured.

? A group of people who gathered for a car meet were charged Sunday night after police got a tip about the event, Cotto said. Police were already on the way to the CVS on Westport Avenue when the store's manager called to complain about several young people in the parking lot with sports cars, motorcycles and customized vehicles, Cotto said. They did not have permission to be there and 12 people were charged with simple trespass, an infraction. They ranged in age from 18 to 47.
