Norwalk Man Arrested On Weapons And Drug Charges

NORWALK, Conn. -- A loaded Glock .357 was found Tuesday as the Norwalk Detective Bureau arrested a man wanted by Stamford Police for allegedly pointing a firearm at someone, Norwalk Police said.

Fernando Herrarte, 25, of 109 Flax Hill Road was charged Friday during an appearance at Norwalk Superior Court by Norwalk Police on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school with intent to sell along with sell and possession of marijuana.

Norwalk Police went to 109 Flax Hill Road around 11 a.m. Tuesday to take Herrarte into custody on charges of pointing a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

During a search of the residence Norwalk Police found the handgun, along with 28 rounds of ammunition, 61.58 grams of cocaine, 49.5 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and $1,630 in cash.

His bond was set at $75,000.
