Norwalk Cops: Burglaries Reported On Rome, King Streets

NORWALK, Conn. – A burglary and an attempted burglary were reported Wednesday on Rome and King streets, which are in the same area, Norwalk police said.

In the Rome Street burglary, more than $2,600 worth of electronic items, mostly by Apple, were reported stolen from a house at about 6:30 p.m. after the homeowners returned to the residence, police said.

There were no signs of forced entry, police said, but thieves may have broken into the home through an unlocked bathroom window. Two iPads, three iPods, a Playstation 3, a Nintendo DS3 and several games, a Nintendo Wii, a Canon camera and a Dell laptop were taken, police said.

A few hours later, a homeowner on nearby King Street reported hearing a large thud outside of their house near a rear basement window, police said.

The window had been left ajar, but an attached screen had been in place. After officers arrived, they found the window was open and the screen had been removed, police said.

Police and the homeowner do not believe anyone entered the home, and nothing was reported missing.
