Newtown Releases 911 Calls From Sandy Hook Elementary School

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Tapes of seven 911 calls from Sandy Hook Elementary School on the day of the deadly shooting last year were released Wednesday afternoon by Newtown officials, according to a story at The Hartford Courant website.

The 911 tapes were released after a Superior Court judge denied an attempt by Danbury State's Attorney Stephen Sedensky to keep them sealed.

The Dec. 14, 2012, calls describing shots being fire and the school being on lockdown came from a school secretary, teachers and a janitor the Courant said.

The 911 calls placed to Troop L in Litchfield remain in State Police custody.
