Norwalk Police pulled over Todd Williams, 27, of Santa Fe, after officers saw him turn without signaling and make an illegal U-turn near Putnam Avenue, police said. As they talked with Williams, officers saw him reach for the center console, where they later found a spring-loaded knife, according to police reports.
Officers then found an expired California pistol permit in his wallet, police said. Williams admitted to having weapons in the car’s glove box, where police found loaded pistols, as well as a bag containing 15.8 grams of marijuana, a glass pipe and three bottles labeled “medical cannabis tincture,” according to the police report.
Williams does not have a valid permit to carry a pistol in Connecticut or any other state, according to police records. Spring-loaded knives are also illegal to carry in Connecticut.
Williams was charged with carrying a gun without a permit, carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs near a school.
He is being held on $100,000 bail and is due in court on Thursday, Jan. 9.
