Hit-Run Driver Turns Self In After Pedestrian Struck In Norwalk

Norwalk police are investigating a hit-and-run in which the driver fled the scene and then later called the police to admit to the crime.

The incident took place around 3:18 a.m., Sunday, May 5, when officers responded to North Main Street at Marshall Street for a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake.

Arriving officers located the pedestrian lying in the street and determined that the vehicle had fled the scene, Blake said.

The male pedestrian was transported to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance. 

The operator of the vehicle later contacted the Norwalk Police Department and is cooperating with the investigation, Blake added.
