Police said that the victim received numerous phone calls from the suspect, who said he was a law enforcement officer. He demanded that the victim wire money because the victim's grandson was in jail, police said.
The victim ended up wiring $2,450 to the Stop & Shop on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk, and on Oct. 14, the suspect picked up the fraudulent wire transfer, according to police.
