Fire officials told the Hour that the driver, a woman in her late 50s, lost control of her station wagon on Gardner Street. After sideswiping a tree, she almost hit a Walgreens on the corner of West Avenue and Gardner Street, coming to a rest a couple inches away from the building, according to the Hour.
The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated the driver, who was semi-conscious at the scene, according to the Hour. After she was removed from the car she was taken to Norwalk Hospital, the Hour reported.
