NORWALK, Conn. A man was attacked by two dogs in South Norwalk on Monday night, leading police to use their stun gun on one of the dogs twice, according to witnesses.
Angel Dorleans was sitting in her home on Hanford Place when she saw two dogs biting a man in the street. The man jumped on her fence and eventually ran up onto her front porch, she said.
Dorleans ran out onto her porch to help the man, she said. The larger of the two dogs which may have been pit bulls was latched onto the mans leg and would not let go, no matter how hard she tried to get him off, she said. She tried hitting him with a skateboard, a scooter and a chair and said the dog continued to attack.
Soon after, police arrived and attempted to pull of the dog. It took two shots from a stun gun to get the big dog off, Dorleans said. Police then took the dog away.
The man had a wound the size of a tennis ball, Dorleans said. That shook me up. Its going to give me nightmares.
This is not the first time this dog has bitten people, Dorleans said. This is at least the fourth or fifth time that this dog has gone after a person, she said.
Police at the scene declined to comment.
