Members of the New Canaan Police Department were dispatched to the Fjord Fish Market parking lot at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, where there was a complaint of a bicyclist who had nearly been struck by a vehicle driving in the area.
Police said the investigation determined that Darien resident Adaobi Kurylov, 37, was riding her bike northbound on Main Street approaching the intersection of East Avenue. A vehicle being driven by the victim was also traveling in the same direction and had her turn signal on, indicating her intention to turn right onto East Avenue.
The vehicle proceeded to make the turn onto East Avenue and then into the parking lot at the fish market. Kurylov proceeded to follow the vehicle into the lot and confronted the driver, claiming she was nearly struck by the victim’s vehicle.
According to police, investigating officers determined that Kurylov was in the wrong and she was cited for breach of peace. She was issued a misdemeanor summons at the scene and released. She is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20 to answer the charge.
