Cops: Norwalk Man Smashed Ex-Girlfriend’s Windshield

NORWALK, Conn. – A 40-year-old Norwalk man smashed the windshield of his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend’s car early Sunday after the two had words at the El Dorado bar on Isaac Street, according to police.

The incident was reported just after 3 a.m. after the woman discovered the car. The woman told police she believed her ex-boyfriend did it because he shouted vulgar names at her earlier in the bar and had allegedly damaged her car in the past.

Jose Espinosa, of Ely Avenue, was contacted by police, and when asked if he had smashed the windshield, he smiled, police said.

Espinosa was charged with misdemeanor harassment and criminal mischief, and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court Monday.
