Cops: Angry Norwalk Driver Stomps On Hood Of Car

NORWALK, Conn. – A 37-year-old Norwalk man, angered over allegedly being cut off by another driver, stomped on the hood of the other driver’s car, which eventually led to his arrest on misdemeanor criminal mischief and breach of peace charges, police said.

The incident occurred March 3, when the alleged assailant claims he was cut off by a 39-year-old Norwalk man driving a BMW sedan on Wilson Avenue, police said.

The alleged assailant, who was driving a Honda Accord, drove after the man and pulled in front of him on Old Trolley Way, blocking his path, police said. He then jumped out of his car, banged on the window of the BMW and climbed on its hood, police said. The stomping resulted in two dents in the hood of the car, which the victim later showed to police.

The victim got the license plate number, and a warrant was obtained, police said. The man turned himself in to police Monday and was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on March 28.
