The shooting took place just after 1 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2016, according to the Hour. Someone reported shots fired in the area of Meadow Street and Lawrence Street, and when officers arrived they found a car that had been damaged by the gunfire, as well as shell casings on the ground, the Hour reported.
About a month later, 36-year-old Donald Flamer of Norwalk was arrested in Westport after police said they stopped him and found narcotics and a 9 mm handgun in his car.

Police told the Hour that the gun was tested at the state crime lab, and it was determined that the gun had been used in the Norwalk shooting. Because Flamer is a convicted felon, he is not allowed to possess a gun at all, the Hour reported.
Flamer was served with an arrest warrant while appearing in court Thursday on an unrelated charge, the Hour reported. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and given a $15,000 bond.
