Born in Pelham, N.Y., he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then spent most of his professional career working for Condé Nast Publications, initially as an art editor for Vogue Magazine and then as art director of House and Garden Magazine.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Pratt and Robert (Karen McCarthy) Pratt, both of Norwalk; two daughters, Constance Pratt DiOrio of Wakefield, R.I., and Ann-Ewing Pratt (William) Thompson of Bedford, N.H.; and six grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends Saturday, Jan. 17.
