NORWALK, Conn. – Toivo Hautala, 94, of Shelton, formerly of Norwalk, died on Saturday, Jan. 10, in his home.
A natïve of Finland, he was the son of Tuomas and Johanna Kauppila Hautala.
Before retiring, he was employed as a carpenter for Sharp Contractors in Norwalk. His life was defined by working hard, living frugally, living clean and healthy and always being generous to family members.
Hautala is survived by a nephew in Milford, Conn., and a nephew in Michigan. He was buried on Saturday, Jan. 17 in Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport, Conn.
