NORWALK, Conn. -- Ruth Martin Wood, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died Sunday, May 22. She was 94.
Born in Long Island, N.Y., she is the daughter of the late George and Marie Martin. She worked as a floral designer for Daybreak Nurseries, Village Flower Shop, Norwalk Florist and Richards Flowers among other.
She is survived by her children George Wood of Norwalk and Patricia (Kirk) Ward of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren; Jennifer (Sean) Wilson of N.C., Kristopher and Brandon (Crystal) Ward of AL; and four great-grandchildren, Jade, Noelle, Brody and Colt.
She was predeceased by her brother, Navy Pilot George Alan Martin; and an infant son, Douglas.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 30 from 5-7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. Funeral Services officiated by Rev. John Livingston, will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
