Richard C. Baluha, 75, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Richard C. Baluha, a life-long resident of Norwalk, died on April 2. He was 75.

Baluha was born on April 23, 1940 to Cyril F. and Mary Bepko Baluha, graduating from Bullard Havens Technical School with a certificate in architectural drafting.

He went on to found National Automatic Transmissions in 1963, running the company for 25 years and expanding it into marine transmissions.

Baluha is survived by his wife Judy; two sons, Richard of Greenwich, and Roderick of Rimrock, Ariz.; sister Marilyn Lincoln of Bridgeport; brother Robert and his wife Susan of Shelton; four nieces and three nephews.

Visiting hours are on Friday, April 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, located at 92 East Avenue in Norwalk.

A mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, located at 23 Half Mile Road in Norwalk.

Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 230 Oaklawn Avenue in Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Fight Blindness or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
