NORWALK, Conn. -- LaBelle Marie Harris, of Norwalk, died Saturday, Sept. 26, in Norwalk Hospital. She was 90.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Dec. 10, 1924, to Henry George Rose and Wavie Wazelle. Harris was a descendant of the Cherokee nation from the Rose family.
Harris was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur G. Harris Sr.
She is survived by sons, James G. Harris and Wilbur G. Harris Jr. (Jerry); daughters, Nadine M. Trakim and Sandra M. Harris; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Ramona F. Bruno and a son, Jonathan G. Harris.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in Norwalk’s Hoyt-Cognetta. Funeral Home and Crematory, 5 East Wall St.. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport.
