NORWALK, Conn. Joann Smalls of Norwalk died July 31. She was 51.
Smalls was born May 4, 1961, to the late Joe Louis Goss Sr. and Joe Helen Smalls. She attended Norwalk public schools and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1980. Smalls was employed by Caldor, Merchant Gateway Bank and C.R. Gibson. She also worked as a childcare provider.
She is survived by a daughter, Monique L. (David) Smalls Howard, of Norwalk; a son, Dajon A. Johnson, of Norwalk; six sisters, Rosemarie (William) Smalls, Donella Bryan, Ellena (William Jr.) Voss, of Bridgeport, Beverly (Dave) Montgomery, of South Carolina, Valencia (Jerome) Small and Amanda Smalls, of Norwalk; three brothers, Ralph (Carol) Smalls, Sylvester Smalls, of Norwalk and Joe (Carol) Goss Jr., of Bridgeport; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at Friendship Baptist Church in Norwalk. Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk. Baker Funeral Services is handling arrangements.
