Henric F. Segers, 93, Norwalk Electrician, World War II Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. - Henric F. Segers, a longtime resident of Norwalk, died Tuesday, Oct. 29. He was 93.

Segers was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Antwerp, Belgium, son of Louis and Louise (Matthias) Segers. He graduated from New Canaan High School in 1937 and Electrical State Trade School in 1940. He worked as an electrician for IBEW 208. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Segers is survived by his sons, Rick (Kathy) Segers of Glen Allen Va., and Kenneth (Donna) Segers of Norwalk; daughter, Debbie (Earl) Tyler of Torrington; brother, Peter Segers of the Bronx, N.Y.; sister, Josephine Hamm of Norwalk; and nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Angeline (Lina) Segers; and sisters, Marion Hamm and Margaret Verrity.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, followed by an Interment with full military honors at St. John's Community Mausoleum in Norwalk.
